Do I Need A Scribe?

Over the past decade the US healthcare crisis has stretched the system to its limits, demanding physicians to more with less. This has lead to longer patient waiting times, and diminished patient satisfaction.

In an attempt to balance this delicate equation of patient per hour vs. patient care, many physicians have adopted these bad habits:

  • Staying an additional 1 to 2 hours after a shift to complete charting.
  • Decreasing the amount of time used to communicate with patients and/or family members.
  • Stop seeing new patients 2 hours before the shift is over.
  • Cutting corners when charting, omitting specific details resulting in decreased RVU extraction and increasing medical-legal liability.
  • Spending hours reviewing the incomplete charts that were rejected by the billing company.

These habits lead to physician fatigue and burnout!

We at American Scribes believe for demanding clinical practices the implementation of scribes is paramount to the longevity and efficiency of a Physician.
